On the Road to Commercialization

Having thoroughly validated our production technology at our Kona Demonstration Facility, Cellana is the process of evaluating multiple commercial algae facility locations in Hawaii, the mainland U.S., the Middle East North Africa (MENA) region, and in Southeast Asia.

Our three-product biorefinery business model involves establishing off-take agreements for biofuels, animal feed and Omega-3 nutritional oils as a means to development of commercial algae facilities throughout the world with a total capacity of at least 100,000 metric tons of algae biomass per year.

Modular and Scalable Growth

Cellana’s patented ALDUO™ system, a series of photobioreactors coupled with open ponds, not only enables low-cost, continuous production of diverse strains of microalgae, but also provides a means to construct commercial facilities in a modular and scalable fashion. This means that commercial facilities can be constructed economically and still maintain the ability to expand to meet the growing demand for algae-based products.
